Lot markings that last the season

Faded stripes are the paint, not the surface. Latex 6 to 18 months; alkyd 2 to 4 years; hot thermoplastic 5 to 10 years. River Valley Contracting quotes any of the three and explains the trade-off.

Pressure-wash and prep first. Existing markings either painted over solidly or abraded off where the new layout differs. Chalk-mark stalls for owner approval before paint goes down.

Edmonton bylaw stall sizes by default. Accessibility markings and fire lanes to Alberta Building Code.

Common questions

How long does each material last?

Latex 6 to 18 months. Alkyd 2 to 4 years. Hot thermoplastic 5 to 10 years.

When can I drive on freshly painted lines?

Latex/alkyd: 30 to 60 minutes summer. Thermoplastic: immediately.

Do you handle new layouts or just restripes?

Both. River Valley Contracting lays out brand new lots from a sketch and maximises bylaw-compliant stall counts.

Can you paint over old lines?

Where the old lines are still solid yes — one coat. Where they conflict with the new layout, we grind off or black-out paint over.

How long does a typical lot take?

50 stalls in half a day (latex/alkyd), full day (thermoplastic).

Custom layouts (gym, RV, EV)?

Yes. Gym courts, oversized RV stalls, EV charging zones, daycare play areas — custom colours and symbols available.
